Using autograph within a moodle? - Poodle - 15-06-2006 01:36 PM Is it possible to use autograph within a moodle? The moodle is password protected so the only people who can gain access to it are the same people who would normally use it at school due to a site licence. Thanks The Poodle. Re: Using autograph within a moodle? - Stephen_Whipp - 22-06-2006 11:20 AM Hi, I\'m pretty much unfamiliar with Moodle, however: Autograph is not able to run from the server directly unless you are running a terminal server. Certain components HAVE to exist on the local machine and furthermore the entire Windows Installer Framework is based upon the idea of server managed local installations (through group policy or equivalent). I would assume from what I have read, that for it to work it would have to run across the internet connection. This will unfortunately mean that Autograph will not work across the moodle. In truth, the moodle would violate the terms of your site license anyway because technically the site license implies a number of machines located in 1 site. If you wish to provide access for pupils at home, then you will need to get an Extended Site License. This would allow you to provide pupils with home copies. Alternatively you can buy additional student copies for around Re: Using autograph within a moodle? - richheath - 12-11-2007 11:37 AM Hi, I just wanted to ask you to confirm if this is still the case in the current version. Our maths department are suggesting that they know of someone who has Moodle integration working but I am skeptical. Thanks Re: Using autograph within a moodle? - Stephen_Whipp - 13-11-2007 02:12 PM Hi Well I\'m unsure as whether it will work or not as I haven\'t tested it under a moodle. Owing to this I cannot really offer support regrding such a method of deployment. Regarding Licensing ----------------------- Upon further consideration, the license agreement might stretch to this, providing an extended license was purchased. The type of license would still be subject to your institutions enrolment as to whether a extended site or a extened college license is required. You would need to discuss this with your dealer. |
