Dialogs truncated on RHS - lec - 07-06-2005 02:03 PM Hi, I am an it support for a college and one of the lecturers has asked us to sort a problem they are having with Autograph 3. The problem is that on some machines, when they open a dialog, such as Axes > Edit Axes, the right hand side of the dialog appears to be truncated, with some buttons, edit fields, etc not being visible at all, and others overlapping the RHS of the dialog frame. On other identical machines (same Ghost image), Autograph works correctly. This was reported with version 3.02 and we have since uninstalled this version and installed 3.04 yet the exact same problem remains. I suspect this is a font related issue, but un-installing and re-installing does not solve it. Re: Dialogs truncated on RHS - Mark - 15-06-2005 07:08 PM Does this problem occur for all dialogs in Autograph or just certain ones? Do you think you could upload a screenshot of a truncated dialog, or email it to support@autograph-maths.com. One thing to check:- Go to Control Panel and click on the Fonts icon. Ensure that "Arial for Autograph" is present in the fonts list. Regards Mark Re: Dialogs truncated on RHS - lec - 23-06-2005 02:00 PM Sorry for the delay in replying. We think we have solved this. We now think on most machines, it is caused by the use of large fonts, and setting the system to use small fonts seems to solve the problem. However some users require the use of large fonts due to vision issues, and this raises the question of why the dialog boxes in Autograph do not scale properly? There are still also a few machines where changing the font size does not entirely solve the problem, but we are wondering whether this is due to a combination of video driver and font issues. Of course if the code was written to properly scale, then this shouldn\'t be an issue! Re: Dialogs truncated on RHS - Mark - 04-07-2005 09:10 PM Changing the Font size in Display Properties should not make any difference, since Windows maintains the same font size for dialogs no matter what this is set to. It would be useful to know if this truncation problem happens witth all dialogs or just certain ones. Regards Mark |
