Small problem with copying data from excel
For some reason when I copy excel list into \'Enter Raw Data...\' it does not let me copy if something has a decimal point, but it DOES let me copy if there is a comma rather then a dot...
so basicall I won\'t be able to copy things like 1.34 3.56 5.94 but I WOULD be able to copy things like 1,45 4,78 9,47 as they are seperated by a comma. How can I change so that it accepts \'dot\' as well? ??? |

Re: Small problem with copying data from excel
What locale do you have Windows set to?
It sounds like you are in a non-English locale which uses a comma for the decimal character rather than a dot. |

Re: Small problem with copying data from excel
Well yeah I live in the Netherlands but I go to the british school.
My Windows is English but I\'ve got no idea about the \'local\' as you call it... where can I find it and how can I change it? ???

Re: Small problem with copying data from excel
You need to go to Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options.
I am guessing that the Regional Options are set to "Dutch (Netherlands)". You can either change this to one of the English locales or you can specifically change the character used for the decimal separator. This can be achieved by clicking the "Customize" button and then changing the "Decimal Symbol" from a comma to a dot. Hope this helps. |
