Machine requirements for 3D Graphics Support
Hi,
I have been asked to recommend a notebook which will run, amongst other stuff, Autograph. I am not an Autograph user and so can only go on what the minimum requirements stated for the product are and then scale up from that - appreciating that minimum requirements are usually just that! When I see that DirectX v9 support is required, I take it that we\'re talking about *hardware* support, i.e. the graphics chipset has a hardware engine, rather than the \'integrated\' grahpics chipsets that rely upon software emulation? But is that correct? Will the Intel GMA 950 et al be OK, or are we looking at NVidia GeForce Go 8600 GT as a more workable system? This has a big difference on the price of a machine, but of course is very hard (with a notebook) to correct after purchase if it is under-specified. Can anyone offer any advice or thoughts here? Many thanks J |

Re: Machine requirements for 3D Graphics Support
Hi
An Intel 950 series should run Autograph fine, my laptop has an older chipset and it has no problems. Obviously the better the chip the better it will perform, but providing your client isn\'t trying to run too much at once there shouldn\'t be a problem with the cheaper chipset. Kind Regards: |
