Autograph Keyboard issue in version 3.2 and Adobe

I noticed an odd "bug" in Autograph 3.2.

This is a very peculiar problem indeed and as you might have guessed has not been reported before.  I have Adobe CS3 and have just tested with Fireworks CS3 and it works fine.  To remain "on top" the Autograph keyboard uses a "top layer" that is above the application you are seeing.  I guess it is possible if the application you are using also wants to access that layer that there is a conflict of interest and it won\'t work as expected.

Can you use the "Extra", "Text" and "Data" keys still?

Does this happen with any other applications?

Have you tried on another PC?

Keys can be used but the keyboard cannot be moved.

Only seems to be an issue in Fireworks.

I wonder if it is a font access issue. i know that Fireworks was having problems loading and it was due to a font issue that was preventing it from loading.


Fireworks worked after I uninstalled this font:
Font Name: Ti86pc
Font Style: Regular
Font Type: TrueType
File Size: 42kb
File Name: TI-86.TTF

Could there be a competition for some process in Windows XP SP3 which I\'m using.

Yes, i agree odd. Does not occur in other programs - just Fireworks CS 4.

Also, what is of interest is version 3.1 does not have this problem. I had this problem with the 30 day download of 3.2.

I just had to reformat my hard drivethis past weekend and I can\'t seem to find my 3.2 upgrade CD which I swore I had. I have the 3.1 CD. Hmmmmm....

Anywho, 3.1 works over Fireworks with no problem but  the 30 day download(which I\'m using until I find it) is what is having a problem with Fireworks CS4 on Win XP SP 3.

Finally found my version of 3.2. I uninstalled 30 day demo of 3.2. Installed my version of 3.2. I still had the same problem with Adobe Fireworks CS 4 Win XP SP3.

Too bad this problem is occurring since I like using the Autograph keyboard and Fireworks together to prepare my lessons. Current problem is a real hassle.

I wonder if any other CS4 users are having the same problem.

Hi libman,

I can definitely still move the keyboard when using 3.2 with Fireworks CS3, and you say keyboard 3.1 works with Fireworks CS4 so I wonder what on earth is the conflict between keyboard 3.2 and Fireworks CS4!  Unfrotunately I expect this is going to be a very hard problem to track down as I don\'t expect too many users use Fireworks to prepare graphics for their lessons (very nice polar grid by the way).

Could you please try using keyboard 3.2 with some other applications just to check whether the problem occurs elsewhere.  Notepad is a good application to check with (as it is very simple).
