Help needed to design a line of best fit
I\'m doing my Maths coursework for the IB, and well I need some help designing a line of best fit. I have already try to do it following the tutorial in here but it seems that it doesn\'t work.
I have the following set of data: (x) (y) 1950 554.8 1955 609.0 1960 657.5 1965 729.2 1970 830.7 1975 927.8 1980 998.9 1985 1070.0 1990 1155.3 1995 1220.5 |

Re: Help needed to design a line of best fit
Dear HyperInSugar,
At what stage are you having difficulties? The process is as follows: 1. Open a 2D Graph Page 2. Click Enter XY Data Set 3. Enter your data 4. Click OK. You will now see 10 data points on the page. 5. Select the data set. 6. Right-click and choose y-on-x Regression Line. There are many more things you can do which will help you to understand lines of fit more completely. Search the help for "residuals". Best regards, Simon |
