Admin installation
Hi,

we are facing a problem that is basically resulting in denying to use the program at all. While creating the admin share using the PDF network guide from the autograph website the license activation does not show at all. It\'s just exiting with an installation successful window.

the admin installation has been done on the fileserver itself (windows 2003 SP2). This is the generated log, to make sure no permission restrictions will show up I just used the default settings for the license share, maybe the 2 exception messages will give a hint. Server/ sharename and license info is set, just took those out:

Re: Admin installation
Hi

It would seem that its failing to assign read/write permissions to the share for the Everyone group. Therefore we do need to perform a manual activation, however this requires that the licence share and stations are first manually configured for the licencing.

1) Create a folder and share it with read/write permissions for everyone (well everyone who will run Autograph anyway)
2) Copy in a copy of Autograph3.3.lic from the root of your network download
3) Ensure that on each client station, the Registry Location HKLM\\Software\\Eastmond Publishing Ltd.\\Autograph\\Version3.20\\LicenceLocation contains the UNC path to the share, I suggest that it includesthe trailing backslash (but it should not contain the filename). I find this is best deployed across the network using a startup script in Server 2003
4) Now run Autograph on the client station and activate as if it were a single user, but as the liecence file is shared will activate for the whole network.

Re: Admin installation
Hi Steve,

thank you for your reply, unfortunately this does not work out as intended.

When assigning the license path (using the unc path) and starting the client it states their are 30 trial days left and gives the opportunity to activate it.

So far so good after putting in the details and using the online activation (with a message stating: \'Online Activation was successful.\') it jumps back to the trial window.

The Testversion is down to 0 days and it says that it is unlicensed as well as the activation buttons are greyed out once again.

The license file inside the network share has been modified throughout the online activation tho. So the path is correct as well as writing rights are given (at least to the admin account which is used while activating).

Still no chance to use the paid software.

Regards
Florian Drescher

edit: screenshot of the license viewer tool, no documentation to be found how to interpret anything here. Is it possible that our license is actually corrupt? The text within the green box should show a number of available licenses I\'d assume. We are a school if that is of any interest (education license etc).

Re: Admin installation
Hi,

I\'m guessing that somehow the licence file has become corrupted. Can you please try overwriting the licence file in the share with a new copy from the root of your network zip and then reactivating to see if this fixes the issue.

Hi sorry for the delay, I missed you're post. Can you contact our support email address (support(AT)autograph-maths.com) and I'll generate you a replacement licence
