Transformations
Is there any way of rotating graphs of conic sections?
Can these be converted to a "shape" to enable rotation for example?

Re: Transformations
A data set can be created from virtually any curve by selecting the curve, followed by a right-click and \'Create Data Set\'. The data set can then be selected and transformed by any of the standard transformations via the right-click menu.

Hope this helps.

Re: Transformations
Mark,

This helps a bit. The \'create data set\' option does NOT appear when the whole curve is selected e.g  on a hyperbola. It appears ok when curve selected for positive y values.

How are the data set points removed once the curve is rotated for example?

Many thanks for your input

Re: Transformations
You are right - the \'Create Data Set\' option only works for a single branch of a curve. For a curve such as a hyperbola you must first create a data set from the positive branch and then repeat the process for the negative branch. You must also perform the transformation operation for each data set.

You can actually merge the data sets by copying the data from one and pasting it at the end of the other, but this produces a line joining the two branches so is not very desirable.

It is not possible to remove the data points in the current version, although this is a feature that will be implemented in a future release. The best you can do at the moment is to make sure that the data set is deselected and that you don\'t use too many points.
