Automated installer for autograph
We do not give our users local administrator privileges, so our users cannot install Autograph themselves, and have an automated installation mechanism for all software.
We will soon be reinstalling all Maths department laptops with Windows 7, and I am wondering if it is possible to build an automated solution to deploy Autograph to these computers. Note that this is not a network installation, as they can use their laptops at home or wherever. As you’ll appreciate, it is a pain having to manually log in as an administrator to install the package on each computer, and if all packages needed installation in this way, then the job would be impossible. I sent an email to support@autograph-maths.com regarding this last Thursday afternoon, but have not yet had a reply. As you do not seem to want to publish a full answer to this question on this forum, looking at other posts, and I cannot so far get a response to an email, I'm wondering what to do. Can you please advise? I'm sure that it would be helpful to others if you actually published the answer here. Thank you. |

RE: Automated installer for autograph
Hi,
Our apologies for the delay in response There is no specific method described for Automation of the installation, any appropriate method can be used, however the activation can only be automated using your 'Single Computer at Institution (Not on Network)' Serial Number with the appropriate option to pre-activate a licence file and then replace the existing Licence File in your installation package with this. For this we suggest the following workflow: 1) Download the network installation package and extract to a chosen folder 2) install this onto a single client (preferably a network admin desktop). 3) Run Autograph and perform an online activation using the 'Single Computer at Institution (Not on Network)' Serial Number 4) Copy the file Autograph3.3.10.lic from your common application data folder (C:\ProgramData\Autograph 3 or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application data\Autograph 3\) on this PC and overwrite the existing file in the root folder of your extracted download 5) Now use this as the source for all your laptop installations for whatever method of installation automation your installation uses.
