Re: installation problem
Hi,

Sorry to hear you are experiencing these problems. I should be able to help, but will need a little more information.

If you prefer not to put any details about your computer up on the forum  you can contact me directly at

Stephen.Whipp@autograph-maths.com

----------------

Is there any more detail provided with that error message? Especially an error number.

When abouts does this happen? has it come up with a progress bar

What Operating System are you using?

Could you browse the CD and look at  \'Release.txt\' and tell me what the Release Number is please?

If this is version 3.04 and you are running 98, there have been problems similar to this. Can you try browsing the CD and doubleclicking on\' Autograph 3.04.msi\'. This has fixed the problems with this version in the past.

Do you have any firewall software such as Norton Internet Security(not just Norton Antivirus)  installed on the machine, this could theoretically be blocking access although I haven\'t seen it happen myself?

If it is a college/school  machine, have they set up any particular security features on it which might effect what locations you can access? This is something which I\'ve seen done especially with RM machines and can be an absolute pain. Its unlikely to be the problem however as its a read error rather than a write error and you\'ve already accessed the CD

It sounds on the surface  like you might have a corrupt CD, or possibly an out of date version. However I\'ll need to check the above details to be sure

regards
